Welcome to our Kirkcaldy Gym

In 2015 following on from our success with Gym 64 Dunfermline we opened our second Gym 64 Kirkcaldy. The fitness world has always been full of fads and gimmicks and we were tired of the trends and tricks played out within our industry.  So for a second time we decided to create something better…

“Gym 64 are a family run business and passionate about people and fitness. Focusing on creating sustainable performance through science, education and elite level coaching. Everything we do is designed to enrich our clients experience through innovative sessions, knowledge-based approaches and tailored fitness regimes.”

Managers

Martin Dickson

Regional Fitness Manager

Martin here, I’m excited to share a little about my journey with Gym64. I joined the Gym64 family ten years ago, and it’s been an incredible experience from day one.

Before becoming Regional Manager, I spent 18 months as Branch Manager in Kirkcaldy. I truly enjoyed that role. For the past 8 years, I’ve had the privilege of overseeing multiple branches, ensuring we maintain the high standards that our members deserve.

With 15 years in the fitness industry, I can honestly say my passion for health and fitness is just as strong today as it was when I first started. One of the reasons I’ve chosen to stay with Gym64 for so long is that we’re always evolving. Our gyms never stand still! We constantly upgrade our equipment, refine our gym designs, and improve our operating procedures. My goal is to ensure we’re always ahead of the curve, providing you with an exceptional member experience.

I also work as a personal trainer alongside my managerial role. Balancing these roles allows me to stay connected with our members and reminds me why I wanted to get into the fitness industry in the first place.

I don’t take myself too seriously and a wee bit of banter is non-negotiable if you want to join my fitness community 😉

If you ever want to talk about your experiences in our Gym64 branches or have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m always here to support you. You can drop me an email at martind@gym64.com.

Thanks for being a part of our Gym64 community.

Wendy Macfarlane

Fitness Manager - Kirkcaldy

Stick with me; I have lots to say!

My journey with Gym64 started in 2019 when I joined the Glenrothes branch after my gym closed its doors. I’ve loved training at the gym and watching the transformation over the years.

My fitness journey started after a family holiday abroad left me feeling awful about my appearance, and I swore to myself I’d never feel like that again. My initial goal was to be skinny, as I thought that would bring me happiness. My goals soon changed after I discovered strength training.

I compete in the wonderful world of powerlifting, and since 2016, my strength, dedication, and resilience have won me numerous Scottish championships, a British title, a European title, a Commonwealth title, world medals, records, friends for life, and have allowed me to travel to some incredible countries all over the world.

Although I’m no stranger to a gym or a barbell, working within the fitness industry was something I could only dream of. When I turned 40, I decided that I wasn’t born to sit behind a desk any longer. I tried out for something I thought I wanted, and lucky for me, it didn’t work out. Then the advert for the Fitness Manager’s role presented itself to me; what did I have to lose?

I’m now in a role I absolutely adore. Gym64 took a chance on me, and I will be forever grateful for that. I love the vibe in the Kirkcaldy branch; the members have made me feel very welcome from day one. Management listens to the members and is always making sure we are ahead of the industry. I genuinely don’t feel like I’m coming to work every day, and how many people get to say that about their job?

A few things you might not know about me: I have two 6ft sons, a very understanding husband, I’m half American, I’ve skydived three times, climbed six Munros in one day, love Beyoncé and house music, I’m told I’m very sarcastic, and apparently, people find me terrifying.

If you haven’t said hello to me already, please stop me as you pass and say hello. If you would rather avoid me, then feel free to email me at wendy@gym64.com

Hello, I’m Jimmy a personal trainer at Gym64 Kirkcaldy. Personal Trainer Gav McCann

Gavin McCann

Hi, I’m Gav, I’ve been working in Gym64 Kirkcaldy branch since the day it opened. Over my 26 years as a Personal Trainer, I’ve worked in many gyms around the Fife and Edinburgh areas, I can honestly say Gym64 is the best I’ve worked in by a long way. Gym64 has given me opportunities to develop my business, without them I wouldn’t be where I am today and working here most definitely restored my passion for the fitness industry, just at the right time. I train clients mostly in the Kirkcaldy branch but also do a few hours training in Glenrothes. If you’re interested in coaching then get in touch. I rarely have in-person spaces available but will happily discuss online coaching to guide you towards you goals.

Richie Gaskin

Passionate about: Keeping up with new and accurate studies (There’s more to fitness than 3 sets of 10-12!), Maintaining joint health for lifelong lifting and Lifting heavy circles. Goals for the future: Keep learning to make the most accurate decisions and training for my clients, Compete in my first powerlifting competition and Keep bringing joy and smiles to the job I love. Join me and Get Fit with Rich—because your best self is just a workout away! Whether you’re aiming for strength, hypertrophy, or just staying fit and healthy, I’ve got you covered!

Kelly Watson

My love for sports and fitness began at an early age and has remained a constant in my life. This journey started with gymnastics training and eventually led to becoming a Level 2 women’s artistic gymnastics coach. I also hold a BSc(hons) and MSc(res) in forensic anthropology, giving me extensive knowledge of the human body. Throughout my time at university, I struggled with restrictive eating habits fuelled by harmful content online and I began to lose unnecessary weight. This led to constant tiredness, fatigue, and anxiety, meaning something had to change. I began doing my own research and following Instagram accounts that promoted healthy relationships with food, training to feel strong and the importance of rest. My mindset completely changed allowing me to properly fuel my body, lift heavier and feel confident in myself. The difference this has made to both my physical and mental health has inspired me to want to help others find that healthy balance in their lives. I am now a qualified level 3 personal trainer and ready to help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be, in healthy and maintainable ways.
